Chairman of the Obollofor Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Emeka Agundu was reportedly shot dead by some unknown gunmen, TNL learnt. According to the information gathered by TheNigerialawyer (TNL), Mr. Agundu was shot dead at Nssuka, Enugu State, on a visit to a land within jurisdiction. The Current Chairman of NBA Enugu Branch, Anene Ojinta, who confirmed the gruesome and ungodly incident to TNL, intimated our correspondent that Mr. Agundu was shot on his head around his office premises, but surprisingly survived the gunshot. ”We all went to Abuja with the Secretary. Unless he died later, as at Friday, I didn’t hear any news about death,” he affirmed. On a further enquiry, our correspondent put a call through to the Secretary of the branch, Mr. Desmond Onyebuchi, who confirmed the unfortunate death of Mr. Agundu. According to him, the late chairman was shot about two weeks ago at Obollofor Town where his office is located before the NBA Annual General Conference, but he survived. He said they spoke on Sunday at about 10:am. After the first assassination attempt, findings were made but nothing valuable was discovered as everything surrounding the whole incident was unavoidably vague, since there was no dangerous case that he was known to be handling. However, the secretary added that based on the information from the neighborhood watchman (Vigilante) late Agundu was called by a client to check out a land somewhere in Nsukka. ”He was called to check a land. He was escorted by a vigilante (Neighbourhood officer) who held a double barrel gun. The vigilante was shot on the hand, but he luckily escaped. They took Mr. Agundu and possibly killed him thereafter,” he narrated. He also added that the hoodlums catered away with some valuables from the car of the deceased. TheNigerialawyer (TNL) deeply sympathizes with the members of NBA Obollafor Branch for their loss. Before his death, Mr. Emeka Agundu hailed from Nebo in Anambra State. He was born and raised in Obollafor which was his maternal home. Married with 2 kids. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace!]]>
