The Nigerian Bar Association has notified its members, particularly legal practitioners appointed as Notaries Public, of the approval granted by the Supreme Court of Nigeria authorising Strata Flex Nigeria Ltd. to issue secured tamper-proof seals for Notaries Public in Nigeria.

The NBA disclosed this in a notice signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bridget Edokwe, Esq.

According to the Association, a letter from the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, dated October 11, 2024, with reference number 4495/SCN/NP/S.1/23, was recently brought to its attention.

The letter conveyed the approval of the Supreme Court authorising Strata Flex Nigeria Ltd. to issue the secured tamper-proof seals to Notaries Public in the country.

The NBA said the introduction of the seals is aimed at enhancing the integrity, authenticity, security and reliability of notarial acts and documents in Nigeria.

It added that the initiative would also help safeguard members of the public against forgery, unauthorised notarisation and other forms of abuse associated with notarial practice.

The Association, therefore, advised all Notaries Public to take note of the development and ensure compliance with all directives, guidelines and procedures that may be issued by the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Strata Flex Nigeria Ltd. concerning the acquisition and use of the approved seals.

The NBA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the administration of justice, uphold professional standards and promote public confidence in legal and notarial services in Nigeria.
