The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch is set to host the “Democracy Day Walk” on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, as part of its Lagos Law Week activities.

The event aims to promote networking, raise awareness about mental health and wellness, and provide a platform for exercise and physical activity.

The Democracy Day Walk is more than just a leisurely stroll; it is a symbolic gesture celebrating the power of collective voices and the strength of unity. Participants will walk together from the Court of Appeal in Igbosere to Falomo, sending a resounding message to honor Nigeria’s past and march towards a brighter future.

Organizers emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being, encouraging lawyers and members of the public to join the walk as a means of promoting a healthier lifestyle. Additionally, free medical checkup services will be available on-site, providing attendees with an opportunity to prioritize their overall health.

“The Democracy Day Walk is a powerful statement of our commitment to upholding the values of democracy, while also fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among legal professionals,” said the Chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch. “We invite everyone to join us in this symbolic gesture, as we celebrate our collective voices and work towards a brighter tomorrow for our nation.”

The event is scheduled to commence at 7:00 am on June 12, 2024, and participants are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the free medical checkup services.

The NBA Lagos Branch’s Lagos Law Week promises a series of engaging activities aimed at promoting legal education, professional development, and community outreach, with the Democracy Day Walk serving as a highlight, reminding attendees of the power of unity and the importance of mental and physical well-being.
