The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch has revealed that Segun Osuntokun, a Global Senior Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP), will be the keynote speaker for its upcoming Law Week.

The event, themed “Charting new legal frontiers: Practice of Law in Nigeria, Cross border alliances & Partnerships,” is scheduled to take place from June 10th to 16th, 2024, at the Harbour Point Hall in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Segun Osuntokun brings over 30 years of experience to the table, having acted for state governments, telecommunication and energy companies, and international conglomerates on complex disputes and claims.

He heads BCLP’s Civil Fraud Litigation practice and Africa group, working alongside the Global CEO and Leadership Team to manage and lead the firm, which boasts over 1,200 lawyers in 31 offices worldwide.

One of Osuntokun’s notable achievements includes successfully defending the Central Bank of Nigeria in a landmark case brought by a Nigerian citizen in the High Court of England, with a claim valued at over £1 billion. The Supreme Court of England and Wales clarified the law surrounding civil fraud claims made against alleged accessories in this case.

The NBA Lagos Branch anticipates that Osuntokun’s wealth of knowledge and experience will provide attendees with a thought-provoking and insightful keynote address.
