Members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Jos Branch Male Football Team, have been involved in an accident while travelling to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the President’s Cup.

The incident occurred as the team was en route to Port Harcourt to participate in the football competition, with some members reportedly sustaining injuries.

No life was, however, lost in the accident.

Reacting to the development on Tuesday, NBA President-Elect, Mrs. Onyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, expressed shock and sympathy over the incident, while thanking God that none of the lawyers died.

“I was deeply saddened to hear about the accident involving our colleagues from NBA Jos Branch Male Football Team en route to Port Harcourt for the President’s Cup,” she said.

Badejo-Okusanya said she remained grateful that the accident did not result in loss of life despite the circumstances.

“While still at shock as a result of this incident, I am eternally grateful to God for his continued protection and preservation as no life was lost,” she stated.

She extended her thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the accident and wished the injured members of the team a speedy and complete recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. I wish those injured speedy and full recovery, and I pray for strength, comfort, and healing for them and their families,” she added.

The NBA President-Elect also assured the Jos Branch and affected members of her solidarity during the difficult period.

“Please be assured of my solidarity and prayers in this difficult moment,” she said.

The Jos Branch team was travelling to Port Harcourt in connection with the President’s Cup when the accident occurred.

Further details regarding the cause and location of the accident, as well as the number and condition of those injured, were not disclosed in the statement.
