In a letter dated 2nd April 2019 signed by the General Secretary of the NBA, Jonathan Taidi Gunu, the decision to hand over to the Vice Chairman Ezekiel Ogbaide is sequel to the resolution made by NEC on the 28th March 2019. He is also directed to confirm the hand over by replying to the mail sent to him by the General Secretary, Jonathan Taidi Gunu so that NEC will be informed accordingly The letter reads in part: The NBA NEC at its 2018/2019 2ndQuarter meeting that was held on Thursday, 28 March 2019 resolved as follows on matters concerning NBA Ikorodu Branch: 1, “That Mr. Bayo Akinlade, the Chairman of the Ikorodu Branch is suspended from office and as a member of NEC with immediate effect pending his appearance before a disciplinary panel to defend his action in defying the directive of the National President of the NBA directing him to hold off the conduct of elections for the office of the Vice Chairman of the Branch until all issues surrounding the said elections were resolved.” 2. “That the purported election of Mrs. Gloria Cassius as the new Vice Chairman for Ikorodu Branch is hereby declared null and void and Mrs. Cassius is advised not to parade or present herself as the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Branch.” 3. “That Mr. Ezekiel Ogbaide Esq, the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Branch is mandated and directed to take over forthwith as the Acting Chairman of the Branch pending the conclusion of the disciplinary processes against Mr. Akinlade.” Considering that you were present at the NEC Meeting when these Resolutions were made, it is expected that you have already handed over the Chairmanship office to Mr. Ogbaide as directed by NEC.]]>
