The Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) has constituted a caretaker committee for the NBA Auchi Branch which is to steer the affairs of the Branch for a period of three months.

It would be recalled that pursuant to the appeal lodged by one Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed,Esq., to the NBA Election Appeal Panel of the Western Zone, the NBA had earlier on directed the suspension of the Auchi Branch Election which was contained in a letter dated 6th day of June, 2020 which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer(TNL) and signed by the NBA General Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Gunu Taidi, Esq.

However, the decision setting up a caretaker committee is in view of the expiration of the tenure of the present leadership of the Branch.

This constitution is contained in a letter dated 9th day of June, 2020 which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) and signed by the General Secretary of the NBA,Mr. Jonathan Gunu Taidi, Esq.

The committee with the option to co-opt new members has the following persons: A.A.Atemoagbon, M. A. Garuba & D. A. Alegbe.

CONSTITUTION OF CARETAKER COMMITTEE FOR AUCHI BRANCH

Following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive Committee of Auchi Branch of the
Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and due to the stalemate in holding election arising from
appeals pending before the 2020 Branch Elections Appeals Panel, the President of the Nigerian
Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN has constituted a Caretaker Committee to handle the affairs of
the Branch in line with Article 11 of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches for a period of three (3)
months.

The Caretaker Committee may co-opt such members as it deems necessary.

The Committee is composed of the following:
A. A. Atemoagbon
M. A. Garuba
D. A. Alegbe

Members of the Branch are advised to cooperate with the Caretaker committee as it pilots in
the interim, the affairs of the Branch.
