The NBA received the tragic news of this menace with great shock and displeasure. It was reported that some unidentified gun men in the early hours of Sunday 6th August 2017 invaded St. Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, killing a good number of worshippers and leaving scores injured. The president said that ” this is a very worrisome act that is not acceptable to the Bar. The life every Nigerian is sacrosanct and must be protected.” He said “it is an act that needs to be curtailed immediately by the security operatives before spreading across other parts of the Country.” The President urges the Anambra State Government to make use of all its machineries in ensuring the culprits are brought to book and made to face the wrath of the law for such a disastrous action. The President on behalf of the National Officers, National Executive Committee and the entire members of the Association sympathises with the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incidence and pray that God Almighty shall comfort them.]]>
