The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) branches in Enugu State have officially inaugurated a 70-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2025 NBA Annual General Conference (AGC), which is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 29, 2025, at the Enugu Smart City.

The LOC was formally inaugurated via Zoom on May 7, 2025, by Sammie Somiari, SAN, who serves as the Alternate Chairman of the NBA Conference Planning Committee (CPC). Following this, the 18 subcommittees under the LOC were inaugurated during a physical event on May 19, 2025.

In the gathering hosted at the conference room of Mr. Ikeazor Akaraiwe, SAN’s law firm, the LOC was charged with the responsibility of delivering what is being billed as “the best NBA National Conference in history.”

Mr. Ikeazor Akaraiwe, SAN, was unanimously appointed as Chairman of the LOC. Widely respected for his professional excellence, integrity, and deep spiritual values, Akaraiwe was described by colleagues as a “barman par excellence” with deep ties across the Nigerian legal landscape.

She praised the high level of commitment exhibited by committee members and expressed confidence in the team’s capacity to deliver a world-class conference.
