The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Auchi Branch, has announced its commitment to enforcing the Legal Practitioners Remuneration (For Business, Legal Service and Representation) Order, 2023.

In an official statement released by the Chairman of the branch M. I. Afaliokhai Esq, the organization expressed its determination to ensure that all members receive the financial benefits they are entitled to as legal practitioners.

The Chairman emphasized that the enforcement of the Remuneration Order is in line with his electioneering campaign promises, which aim to promote the financial well-being of all members of the branch. He stated, “It is my firm optimism that under my administration, no lawyer will be priced cheaply, and every lawyer will wear the noble cloak and enjoy the noble outlook and effulgence that our noble profession has been known for.”

The NBA Auchi Branch has called for the support and cooperation of all members in the enforcement of the Remuneration Order, urging strict compliance. The statement also acknowledged the possibility of recalcitrant members and announced the appointment of a 5-member committee to receive complaints and recommend disciplinary action against those who breach or attempt to circumvent the Order.

The enforcement and disciplinary measures are not intended to target any specific member or serve as a means of vindictiveness, but rather to ensure the effectiveness of the policy for the overall benefit of the bar. The NBA Auchi Branch remains resolute in its pursuit of compliance with the Remuneration Order.

The Chairman concluded by expressing gratitude for the cooperation received from members since his election and solicited their continued support in building a bar that meets the aspirations of all its members.
