The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Family Bar, Anaocha branch held a ceremony on Saturday, June 29, 2024, to swear in its newly elected executives and bid farewell to the outgoing team.

The ceremony, which took place at the Chief Charles E.N. Obegolu Bar Center in Obeledu, Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State, marked a smooth transition and a new chapter for the family bar.

During the event, outgoing Chairman Ugochukwu Okoli, Esq., handed over the reins to the newly elected Chairman, J.C. Oraekeh, Esq. In his acceptance and inaugural speech, Oraekeh expressed gratitude to the members for their trust and pledged to run a proactive and participatory leadership devoid of any discriminatory tendencies.

The ceremony was witnessed by several legal luminaries, including Chief Lawrence Obi Anizoba, His Hon. Kingsley Onwuka, and Mrs. Rose Ebere Okonkwo, who represented other eminent members of the branch, such as Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, Chief Alex Ejesieme, SAN, Chief Mrs. Mary Obegolu, Esq., Chief Jide Okongwu, Esq., Chief Chris Adimora, Esq., Hon. Chinyere Ossy Okoye, Esq., Hon. Kingsley Chukwuma Iruba, Esq., and Hon. Anthonia Tabansi, Esq. The legal luminaries welcomed the new executives and urged them to learn from the mistakes of the past leadership while building a stronger and more participatory family bar branch with enviable achievements.

In an interview with our correspondent, the newly sworn-in Publicity Secretary, Kevin Chizoba Nicholas Ezeoke, Esq., stated that the new administration would run an all-member-inclusive administration that prioritizes and engenders members’ welfare, interest, trust, confidence, and fraternity without losing sight of the parent body’s motto, “promoting the rule of law.”

Ezeoke further emphasized that the new executives and the branch are ready and willing to support and synergize with other branches and the national body to ensure that not only the noble and members’ welfare interest goals of the Association are set but also achieved.
