The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ado Ekiti Branch, has decried the increasing cases of domestic, emotional, and physical violence against men in the country, calling on authorities to address the issue urgently.

The lawyers made this call during a sensitization walk themed “Stop Violence Against Men”, held in Ado Ekiti as part of their 14-day activism campaign on violence against men.
The awareness walk, which started from the Afe Babalola Bar Centre, Fajuyi, saw legal practitioners educating the public—especially men—on the importance of speaking out and seeking help when facing abuse from their partners.
Addressing journalists at the Okeyimi area of Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Taiwo Omidoyin, Chairman of the NBA Ado Ekiti Branch, announced that the association had established a special legal support desk to provide free assistance to men experiencing any form of violence.
“Many men suffer in silence due to societal stigma. We want to assure them that help is available. Our association has set up a special desk where men facing violence can receive free legal aid and support,” Dr. Omidoyin stated.
He urged victims to take advantage of this initiative, emphasizing that violence against men is a critical issue that must no longer be ignored.
