The Demise of Ms. Hauwa Evelyn Shekarau

It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the family of Ms. Hauwa Shekarau and the members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) over Ms. Shekarau’s untimely demise today, 15th September, 2021.

We pray for the repose of her soul and for comfort for those of us left behind.

Ms. Shekarau was a senior member of the Bar who was deeply committed to the welfare of members and in particular to the resolution of the protracted crises in NBA Abuja Branch which the NBA under the leadership of Mr. Olumide Akpata has materially resolved with the cooperation of Ms. Hauwa Shekarau.

My family members and I have been inundated with phone calls of concern by kith and kin as the news has spread far and wide. Our lives and times are in God’s hands. He gives and He takes. It has pleased the Almighty God to call Ms. Shekarau to glory, one day, we will also be called to account for our time on earth.

The members of the NBA Abuja Branch and indeed the NBA at large will continue to miss her gentle soul.

Bulus Atsen
Chairman,
NBA Abuja Branch
(Unity Bar)
