Guests invited by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for the 2024 Annual General Conference (AGC) are facing difficulties securing accommodation at the hotels assigned to them by the organizers.

Several guests have reported being denied access to their rooms due to alleged lapses in communication and coordination between the NBA and the designated hotels.

Speaking to Kubwaexpress, Not TheNigerialawyer one of the affected guests expressed their frustration and disappointment with the situation. The guest, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that they were rudely informed by the hotel receptionist that the NBA had not made any deposits to secure the rooms, contrary to the promises made by the organizers.

Another guest reported that their name was not on the list of expected guests at the hotel they were assigned to, despite the NBA’s assurances that reservations had been made on their behalf. Efforts to reach out to members of the NBA 2024 AGC Planning Committee for clarification proved futile, as they declined to comment and directed all inquiries to the Committee Chairman, referred to as “Madam B.” Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya .

In a related development, it has been reported that spaces at the popular Mami-market, a venue known for its bustling trade activities during the AGC, are being sold at a premium price of N200,000. This has raised concerns among attendees about the potential high costs of goods and services during the conference.

The NBA 2024 AGC, an annual gathering of legal professionals from across Nigeria, is expected to attract a significant number of participants. However, the current accommodation challenges and the anticipated high costs at the Mami-market have left many guests and attendees worried about their overall experience at the conference.

As of the time of reporting, the NBA 2024 AGC Planning Committee has not provided an official statement addressing the accommodation issues or the concerns raised by the guests.
