The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has Released the accreditation and voting timelines, ahead of the NBA National Election. This was contained in a press statement released by the Committee, dated the 16th day of August, 2018 and signed by the Committee’s Secretary, Bolaji Agoro Esq. Following the release of the final list of verified voters, the Committee has given a directive of how verification status of members can be confirmed. According to the Committee, the list will be forward to the service provider for preparation towards voting. It also added that the results of the election will be made known immediately as the closing of the voting portal. See below the notice: Dear Colleague, The verification of eligible voters for the 2018 NBA National Officers Elections ended on 11th August 2018. The Electoral Committee of Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) hereby announces the publication of the list of voters who have successfully verified and are eligible to participate in the elections. The ECNBA advises Members to access the list by clicking this link www.nbaelectionverification.org.ng Members will recall that the final voters register containing a total of Thirty-Two Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty Eight (32,228) was published on the 29th June 2018 pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of Nigerian Bar Association 2015. However, the total number of members, who took part in the verification exercise and are eligible to participate in the forthcoming voting exercise, are Three Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy One (3,571) [Batch A verified between 31 July, 2018 to 2nd August, 2018] and Thirteen Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Four (13,254) Batch B verified between 8th August, 2018 to 11th August, 2018. The ECNBA serves further notice of the following accreditation and voting timelines: 1. The list of verified voters shall be handed to the e-voting service provider on 17th August 2018 for the conduct of the elections solely on the verified list. 2. A guide to check verification status of members eligible to participate in the voting exercise is available on the NBA website (www.nigerianbar.org.ng). 3. Accreditation and e-voting exercise shall commence on Saturday 18th August 2018 at 12.00Noon and conclude on Monday 20th August 2018 at 00.15hours. 4. The result shall be announced immediately after the closure of the voting portal and the collation of votes cast.
