A 30-year-old man, Prosper Igboke, has died after reportedly jumping from a two-storey building in Nnewi, Anambra State. Igboke, a pastor and native of Umunneochi in Abia State, allegedly jumped after being jilted by his girlfriend.

According to an anonymous relative, the deceased had proposed marriage to his girlfriend after sponsoring her university education. However, she declined the proposal, disappointing him.
“The incident happened recently. The 30-year-old man jumped down from a two-storey building and died after his girlfriend, whom he intended to marry, disappointed him,” the relative stated.
The relative expressed surprise that a pastor of Igboke’s age would take such an action. According to local tradition in Leru town, Umunneochi LGA, he was buried in a forest for committing sacrilege.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased was eventually interred in a bush in his home community.
