Ayo Labinjoh, the mother of the teenage girl who recently claimed to be the daughter of Afrobeats star Davido, has reacted to the intervention of the singer’s father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, in the ongoing paternity dispute.

Labinjoh expressed shock, accused the Adeleke family of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse of power, while demanding that Davido address her directly instead of through his father.

Her reaction came after Dr. Adeleke, on Wednesday, dismissed the paternity claim, insisting that the teenage girl, Anu Adeleke, is not his grandchild. He maintained that five DNA tests conducted between 2015 and 2020 at facilities that sent samples to South Africa all returned 0.00% probability of paternity.

Labinjoh expressed shock at claims that her sister, Titi Labinjoh, had been in contact with Dr. Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To my shock my own sister Titi Labinjoh reportedly has been talking to Dr Deji Adeleke since the pandemic about what?” she wrote on Instagram.

She revealed that her sister called from Abuja last week, telling their mother she was scared about the media attention Anu was getting and that her coworkers were bothering her about the matter.

Labinjoh denied that her sister acted on the family’s behalf or received any money for them, quoting Matthew 10:36: “We are shocked they said she has been talking to them since 2020. Did you also give my number to David?”

Dr. Adeleke had alleged that Anu’s aunt informed him that the teenager’s Instagram account is being run by journalist Kemi Olunloyo, adding that the family has cut ties with her.

However, Labinjoh dismissed these claims, explaining that although Olunloyo helped open the account, it was handed over to the family in 2019.

“YES!! Dr Kemi opened this page and took photos online, those she took with Anu and some I posted myself. She handed the page to us in 2019. The gap is there. I’m not a social media user and I didn’t post for 4 years,” she explained.

She added that she started posting again in 2023 on Anu’s 10th birthday photoshoot and has logged on from many locations since then. She noted that her mother, Mrs. Ropo Labinjoh, also posts some of Anu’s videos.

Labinjoh clarified that Olunloyo only assisted with public relations during their first appeal in 2018 and that they are no longer in contact.

“There was no time Titi told Dr Kemi to stop posting about Anu. They don’t have each other’s contact nor talk. We are not in touch with Dr Kemi even though she posts about us,” she stated.

Labinjoh slammed Dr. Adeleke for speaking on Davido’s behalf, insisting that the singer should address her directly.

“SIR, as the Patriarch of the family you should not be talking on David’s behalf. I’m not Sophia negotiating child support. Let David address me,” she wrote.

“Your power and money is being abused here. David is obviously a boy and not a man. It took money for you to use a family member of ours to spy on us.”

Labinjoh denied that any additional DNA tests were conducted in 2020, contradicting Dr. Adeleke’s claims of multiple tests.

“Anu and I never met with you in 2020 for 4 additional DNA tests,” she stated, demanding that the original test results be made public.

She also denied ever meeting Davido’s cousin, B-Red, since 2013, stating: “I have not seen BRed since the night when they dined at my place of work GQ club in Ibadan February 2013. Anu has never met BRed.”

Labinjoh warned that any harm to her, her daughter, or her mother would be the family’s responsibility.

“If anything happens to me, my daughter and mom, the police should hold you responsible,” she stated.

Meanwhile, journalist Kemi Olunloyo has also responded to the controversy, denying that she runs or controls any social media account used to post recent claims about Anu.

She stated that her involvement with Anu began around 2018 when she opened a page focused on awareness and advocacy as part of her journalistic and public relations work. She said she documented her activities at the time and later disengaged from the matter.

Olunloyo maintained that her interest in the matter has always been rooted in investigation and advocacy, adding that she believes the issue should be addressed directly by Davido rather than through family representatives.

She urged that her name be excluded from the ongoing exchanges, insisting that she no longer possesses materials, images, or archives relating to Anu.

The controversy began when Anu posted an open letter on Instagram stating she had been severely bullied due to an unresolved paternity claim. She asked Davido to take a DNA test to establish her identity.

In response, the singer denied the allegation, arguing that five separate DNA tests had already been conducted, all returning negative results.
