Wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, May, has filed for divorce and has also requested the sum of ₦100 million as damages from Judy Austin for having an affair with her husband.

The marital drama between Nollywood actor Yul Edochie and his first wife, May Edochie, has taken a legal turn, with May officially filing for divorce. Yul had previously unveiled Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022, which led to a series of controversies and public scrutiny of their union.

On Tuesday, the DPA Family Clinic, through its legal practitioner Emeka Ugwuonye, revealed the charges May Edochie is pressing against Yul and his second wife. The divorce petition includes a demand for N100 million in damages from Judy for alleged adultery with Yul.

Ugwuonye clarified that Yul and Judy are not legally married until the divorce between Yul and May is finalized, despite calling themselves husband and wife.

May is being represented in court by Femi Falana’s Firm and Eculaw Group, while the DPA Family Clinic provides support in the legal proceedings. Both Yul and Judy have received copies of the lawsuit, but they have been evading the court process, according to the legal practitioner.

Amid the legal battle, May has also filed for a court order restraining Yul from accessing their former marital home, citing genuine security and safety concerns. Ugwuonye highlighted Yul’s erratic and aggressive behavior, stating that he may have been under some influence during recent events.

In response to a video of Yul and Judy praising each other on social media, Ugwuonye explained that Yul was earlier stopped from accessing May’s home by law enforcement, as all matters related to their marriage are subjudice. He emphasized that Yul’s behavior in the video may have been an attempt to boost his ego.

Regarding media statements, Ugwuonye stated that the law firm is respecting the judge’s order and prefers not to disclose the divorce details or legal strategies at this time. Femi Falana’s Firm is leading the case, with Eculaw serving as the junior partner in the legal team.

The legal proceedings have drawn significant attention, and the public awaits further developments in the divorce case between Yul and May Edochie.
