Akangbe, a past chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch, is set to share his insights and expertise on the topic “From Advocacy to Action: Empowering Women for a Just Future.” As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a member of the Body of Benchers, Akangbe brings a wealth of experience to the discussion on women’s empowerment and gender equality in the legal profession.

Currently serving as the managing partner and head of dispute resolution at Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore, Akangbe specializes in commercial and tax litigation, as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He has represented numerous foreign entities in complex tax matters and previously held the position of African Membership Officer of the IBA Taxation Committee.

Akangbe’s commitment to the legal profession extends beyond his practice, as he continues to play an active role within the NBA, chairing its Finance Committee and serving as a member of the NBA National Executive Council since 2019. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and an Associate of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).

Known for his dedication to pro bono advocacy, Akangbe provides legal aid to indigent litigants in criminal and public law matters, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring access to justice for all.
