Yo, everyone, listen up
You all know me:
I love Donald Trump
But, not enough to vote for him

Cause, you see
I’m also on the ballot
Yes, you heard correctly
I want the top job

The Presidency of the United States -
In case you are in doubt
Now, I know politics is not my forte
But I do want the White House

Having made it in music
Sneakers, jeans and clothing generally
I now need to turn my attention elsewhere
After-all, I’m a Forbes-certified billionaire

You might call me self-obsessed, narcissistic
A megalomaniac - or worse
Well, I have no apologies
For always strutting my stuff

So, for the second time of asking,
I threw my hat
Into the ring
For the Presidency – I want THAT

Egged on, perhaps
(You might say)
By my social media fan-base
Will they vote for me en masse?

The crunch came
On election day
November 3rd, 2020
Win or lose – what would it be?

As usual, I was supremely confident
Even against my better judgment
The votes began to be counted
And I waited with baited breath

But all the talk
At least, in the news
Was about President Trump
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

What about me?
What about Kanye?
It was, frankly, surreal
Like the movie “End of Days”
But, this was real enough
As, I had lost
Having polled only 51,000 votes
Out a possible . . . who knows?

I hastily issued a statement
Accepting the obvious
And vowing to return, in 2024
Terminator-like, with success

Till then, its back to the studio
My fashion and other business
Doing what I do best
Making money from being an impresario

(Who said I couldn’t
See the brighter side of this?
Write a rhyme or two about it -
Even if it is somewhat cathartic?)
