JUST IN: Kidnappers abduct Sharia court khadi in Niger

…demand N50million Men of the underworld numbering about twenty, have invaded Jermiya village in Rafi local government area of Niger state and abducted a Sharia court khadi, Abubakar Jibrin. His kidnap is coming barely three days after seven people were kidnapped and three others killed along same road. The kidnappers, numbering about 14 men and four women have demanded for N50 million ransom for the release of the Judge who was abducted on Thursday. According to a source the Sharia court khadi was accosted by the kidnappers at Jerimiya village around 6pm while returning from work at Alawa which is about 10 kilometres to Pandogari town. The District head of Alawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Saleh told the Saturday Telegraph that the kidnappers were heavily armed with four female among them. Accordingly, he said “the entire community now leave under fear following the activities of the armed men in the area. They are demanding for N50 million ransom for the release of the Sharia Judge.” All efforts to reach the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barrister Nasara Danmallam proved abortive as he could not be reached as his phone was out of reach. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer Muhammad Abubakar (ASP) confirmed the abduction saying, “the Police is working round the clock to secure his release.”]]>
