A shocking viral video and explosive social media posts have thrust allegations of domestic violence against Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko, into the national spotlight, reigniting scrutiny over their high-profile marriage.
In the widely circulated footage, Daniels, 25, is seen in distress, tearfully venting to friends amid a tense confrontation. Seated on the ground with water poured over her head in an apparent attempt to calm her, the mother of two shouts about the alleged abuse. “Ned sent thugs… In Ned Nwoko’s house, I’m nothing, but in my house, I’m a queen. What again? I can’t stand the violence – it’s too much,” she declares, her voice breaking as supporters console her.
The video, which has amassed millions of views across platforms, depicts Daniels in a state of emotional turmoil, highlighting what she describes as unbearable mistreatment in her husband’s home. Sources close to the actress say the clip was recorded shortly after an alleged physical altercation, though details remain unverified.
Adding fuel to the fire, Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, took to his Instagram story on Friday evening with a scathing post confirming the assault claims. In blunt Pidgin English, West accused the 63-year-old billionaire politician of physically beating his sister, smashing her head against a wall, and fleeing the scene. “If I catch Ned that day, I for don burst him jaw,” West wrote, vowing to defend his sibling. He further alleged that Nwoko sent men to intimidate the family afterward, emphasizing that this was “not the first time.” West lamented the public backlash his sister now faces, writing, “The world go dey laugh my sister say she marry old man wey dey beat am.”
The allegations come amid ongoing public fascination with the couple’s union, which has been a tabloid staple since their 2019 wedding. Nwoko, a lawyer and prince from Idumuje-Ugwu in Delta State, was 60 at the time, making him 36 years older than Daniels – a gap that drew widespread criticism given that the actress was just 18 when they met. Their marriage, one of Nwoko’s several, has produced two sons and often showcased Daniels’ glamorous life on social media, contrasting sharply with these fresh claims of turmoil.
Nigerians have flooded Nwoko’s Instagram page in response, particularly under a recent post where the senator shared a video of himself attending an event alongside his senior wife, Moroccan national Laila Charani. The timing – mere hours after the alleged incident – has sparked outrage, with commenters accusing him of deliberately sidelining Daniels. “You remember senior wife only when you dey fight Regina? Abeg, nothing must happen to her o,” one user wrote. Others warned of consequences, with remarks like, “Senator, touch am again and see wetin go happen – we dey watch you.”
As of Saturday evening, neither Senator Nwoko nor his representatives have issued a public statement addressing the accusations. Daniels, known for roles in films like Plantain Boy and her advocacy for women’s rights, has not posted since the video surfaced, leaving fans and activists calling for swift intervention from authorities.
