President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday for a three-week vacation in Europe as part of his annual leave, with London, United Kingdom, serving as his first destination.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave. His first stop will be London, United Kingdom,” the statement said.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria immediately after the vacation to participate in the intensifying political activities ahead of the January 2027 general election.

“President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation to join the hectic campaign for the January 2027 election,” Onanuga added.

The Presidency did not provide details of Tinubu’s engagements while in London or disclose whether he would visit other European countries during the three-week period.

The trip comes as political activities intensify across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections, with political parties, candidates and support groups stepping up campaigns and mobilisation.

Tinubu is expected to return to the country at the conclusion of the vacation and resume official duties as well as campaign activities ahead of the presidential election.
