Imo Killings: Re-Enact Your Fighting Spirit, PSC Tells Police Officers

Chairman, Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, yesterday charged officers of the Nigeria Police Force to bring to book, all the marauding gunmen that killed their colleagues in Imo State.

He said the commission was very said over the killings of five personnel of the Force attached to the Imo State by gunmen.

Recall how five police officers and a couple identified as Mr and Mrs Nwagu, during an attack at Okpala community in Ngor-Okpala LGA, were murdered by gunmen.

Speaking through the spokesman of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, Arase commiserated with the families of the deceased officers and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.

“The Commission is deeply pained on the circumstances leading to the unprovoked murder of the police officers who were on duty to protect lives and properties in the area.

“The Commission’s hearts go to their families and loved ones and pray that God will give them the Fortitude to bear this avoidable and irreparable loss.

“The Commission wishes to encourage the Nigeria Police Force to reenact its indomitable fighting spirit to apprehend the deviants and ensure they are brought to Justice,” the former IGP said.

He asked the Imo State Command to accord the deceased police officers befitting ceremonial burial rites meant for heroes who laid their lives for peace-loving Nigerians.

Arase said the commission would continue to partner with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure that officers on duty are provided with necessary gadgets to protect themselves and fence off marauding terror gangs causing havoc across the nation.
