The first witness, a son of the deceased, Ayokunle, told the court that Daniel Ita-Effiong and Bamitale Olayemi allegedly murdered the don to cover up the stealing of his vehicle, laptop, iPad, phones and N7,000. The second witness, police prosecutor Inspector Sikiru Lawal, tendered a statement showing the suspects’ confession that they strangled the don to death at his Ijapo Estate home in Akure in June. They dumped his body in the generator’s store. Lawal said the deceased’s stolen vehicle and other items were recovered from the accused. Justice Rotimi Olamide adjourned the case till October 27.
