The Institute is pleased to announce to her members and the general public that ICMC will be conducting her first ever virtual induction ceremony! It has been deemed necessary in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Institute’s Induction Ceremony is one of the most prestigious programs of the Institute, which marks the official welcoming ceremony of members to the Institute. It is a challenge for participants of the Institute’s courses to articulate some of the ideals that define us as an institution of learning and growth, and how they can grow and further their careers in the field of Mediation.
ICMC will be inducting about five hundred (500) students of the Nigerian Law school as Associate Members. After which they will be able to use the designation, “AICMC” and have their names listed in the ICMC Directory of Members.
The theme of the Induction Ceremony is “The Imperatives of Pursuing a Successful Career in Mediation.” The keynote speech will be delivered by Mr. Godwin Omoaka, SAN, Chairman of the ICMC Lagos Branch and Partner at Templars.
In the course of the Induction ceremony, participants are inducted as members into various cadres, which are the Associate Member (AICMC), Member (MICMC) and Fellow (FICMC).

As part of the benefits of membership, the inductees may have their profiles listed on the Institute’s membership portal called the “ICMC COMMUNITY.”
In a similar vein, the Inductees will have the opportunity to join the “ICMC YOUNG MEDIATORS FORUM” This is a community of ICMC Members under the age of 35 and has been created to encourage a community of mediators, provide a platform for information, growth and networking among members, mentorship between senior and more experienced mediators and young mediators with little or no experience in the field of Mediation.
In order to allow ICMC members and the public have an experience of the prestigious ceremony, we will be streaming the event live on our Facebook page and we encourage you to join the event.
