Family Mediation is an aspect of Mediation where the mediator assists couples and other family members in facilitating communication to seek amicable options that are suitable to their needs. Because family disputes are multi-faceted and complex, a family mediator must have a broad perspective to attend to the underlying issues.

This course will teach course participants how to provide parties in a dispute with a supportive atmosphere and a method of talking to one another, to assist them in resolving their issues and coming up with acceptable solutions, and reaching mutually satisfactory agreements.
