The Institute is offering her members and the general public the opportunity to undergo her training on Psychology of Mediation.

“When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity”

By Dale Carnegie in his book “How to Win Friends and Influence People”

All Human beings are emotional beings. Emotions play a key role in the resolution of disputes. The mind is the platform on which emotions develop and play out. Our emotions affect our behavior in different ways.

Mediation is about assisting disputing parties in finding a solution that is acceptable to them going forward. Therefore a good mediator should be skilled in managing these emotions in a way that diffuses tension and anxiety among the parties.

Psychology of Mediation, therefore, is the study of our minds and how they affect our emotions that play out during mediation. Please join the Institute as we explore how psychological skills can be deployed in Mediation processes.
