The International Bar Association’s (IBA) Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) and its Academic Advisory Group (AAG) have announced scholarships and research grants for students pursuing advanced studies in energy and natural resources law.

The scholarships, totaling up to 18,000 GBP, will be divided among successful applicants and can be used for masters, PhD, or post-doctoral research projects. Research grants may also be awarded to doctoral or post-doctoral students to support further research on important topics in the field.

SEERIL and its committees aim to advance the development and understanding of laws affecting various sectors, including oil and gas, mining, power, water, international construction projects, and environmental, health, and safety law. The AAG was created to enhance the academic standing of energy and natural resources law by improving the quality of teaching, research, and opportunities for academic and student exchange.

The IBA invites interested students and institutions to apply for the scholarship. All applications must be submitted by midnight British Summer Time (BST) on Sunday, 7 April 2024, and candidates must meet the requirements set out in the terms and conditions.

The scholarship committee will review all applications received by the deadline. The IBA recognizes the considerable differences between education programs worldwide and is dedicated to ensuring that all possibilities for graduate and postgraduate studies in energy and natural resources law are eligible.
