The 18th edition of the J-K Gadzama LLP Annual Public Lecture will feature two distinguished figures — renowned banker and economist, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, OON, as Chairman, and Professor Ayodele Morocco-Clarke, an eminent scholar of Energy, Climate and Environmental Law, as the keynote speaker.

Hayatu-Deen, a respected elder statesman with nearly four decades of experience spanning multiple sectors of the Nigerian economy, currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Alpine Investments Ltd. He also sits on the boards of Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc and Air Nigeria Development Ltd.

A member of several high-profile institutions, Hayatu-Deen belongs to the Institute of Directors, the Nigerian German Business Council, the Africa Business Round Table, the West Africa Business Association, and the World Economic Forum. He also served on the National Council of Vision 2010 and the National Council on Privatisation.

His career includes notable leadership roles such as Chairman and CEO of FSB International Bank Plc, Chairman of Dorman Long Engineering Ltd, Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, and Managing Director of the New Nigeria Development Company Ltd.

The event’s keynote speaker, Professor Ayodele Morocco-Clarke, LLB (Hons), BL (Hons), LLM, PhD, is a Professor of Energy, Climate and Environmental Law at Nile University. A consultant to the Senate Committee on Constitutional Review, she is widely regarded for her expertise in sustainable development and natural resource management.

This year’s lecture, themed “Beyond Oil: Diversifying Nigeria’s Economy through Sustainable Natural Resource Management,” will be held virtually on October 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
