Mr. Hassan Taiwo Fajimite has emerged as the newly elected National President of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria.

Fajimite was elected alongside other members of the association’s new national executive committee at MULAN’s national convention held last weekend in Kano.

His emergence places him at the head of one of Nigeria’s leading faith-based professional legal associations, with expectations that his administration will strengthen the body’s role in promoting justice, the rule of law, legal scholarship and the protection of rights.

Fajimite is expected to lead MULAN in advancing the interests of Muslim lawyers across the country, while also deepening the association’s contribution to national development, peaceful coexistence and professional excellence within the legal community.

The new leadership is also expected to focus on the empowerment of young lawyers, protection of the rights of the Muslim community and stronger collaboration with other professional bodies.

Following his election, the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria described Fajimite’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership capacity, integrity and professional competence.

MMPN National President, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said Fajimite’s record of service and commitment to justice, equity and the ideals of Islam had prepared him for the responsibility of leading MULAN.

The group also expressed readiness to collaborate with the new MULAN leadership in promoting justice, protecting the rights of Nigerians, combating misinformation and projecting the true image of Islam through lawful advocacy and responsible public engagement.

Fajimite’s election marks the beginning of a new chapter for MULAN, as members look to the new executive committee to build on the achievements of the outgoing leadership and reposition the association for greater impact.
