The Commissioner for Information , Malam Muhammad Garba, announced this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state’s Executive Council meeting in Kano. Garba said that the law would promote and fast- track sports development in the state. The commissioner added that the Commission would also create an avenue for youths to channel their energy to constructive activities. “This is a demonstration of the commitment of the state government to reposition sports in Kano State,’’ he noted. According to him, the council has approved N70 million for the construction of drains in Giginyu, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, and also approved N20 million for the construction of same in Tudun Wazirci and Kabara quarters in Kano metropolis. “The Kano State Government has approved another N16 million for erosion control at Tsammiya Brigade in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state. “It has also approved N21 million for erosion control in Bebeji Local Government Area.’’ Garba said that the Council approved N16 million as compensation for those affected by the construction of the Sabon Titi bye-pass in Kumbotso.
