The Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has presented scholarship cheques to 127 law graduates to proceed for their one year mandatory programme at the Nigeria law schools.

Buni has while presenting the cheques at the Banquet Hall, Government House Damaturu said the measure was meant to facilitate their registration and studies in pursuance of professional certificate at the law schools.

The governor said the award of the scholarship underscored the commitments of his administration of consistently sponsoring students to pursue education both at home and abroad with over 38,000 benefitting from the state scholarship scheme under the administration.

He further said the presentation of the scholarship to 127 law students marks the fourth consecutive time his administration is granting scholarship to law graduates to attend the Nigeria law school.

“It is with a sense of fulfilment that the government has approved sponsorship of all the 127 graduates that applied for the programme.

“Each of the 127 beneficiaries is awarded a tuition fee of N475, 000.00 and a laptop computer to facilitate their studies.

“You may recall that recently, we celebrated the successful completion of studies and the return of 189 out of the 233 students sponsored by the state government to study in seven universities in India.”

The governor who restated the commitment of his administration to education, and a prosperous future for the youth equally reassured parents, guardians and students that the government would continue to prioritise education and support every citizen of the state to pursue education at all levels.
