The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has announced the formal constitution of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) Prosecutors’ Team, pursuant to the approval granted by the NBA National Executive Council (NEC) at its meeting held on November 7, 2024, at Nike Lake Resort, Enugu.

The team, consisting of seasoned legal professionals, has been tasked with the responsibility of presenting disciplinary petitions before the LPDC on behalf of the NBA, specifically in cases where the Association’s Ethics and Disciplinary Committees have established a prima facie case of professional misconduct against legal practitioners.

The appointed prosecutors include:

The team will work in close collaboration with the NBA Ethics and Disciplinary Committees to ensure effective prosecution of disciplinary matters before the LPDC in line with the Legal Practitioners Act and other rules governing the conduct of legal practitioners in Nigeria.
