Applicants seeking to apply for vacancies in the Federal Civil Service have expressed frustration over their inability to access the recruitment portal, two weeks after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) announced job openings.

The Commission, in a statement issued on January 27 by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Taiwo Hassan, had invited eligible Nigerians to apply for various positions through its online recruitment portal. The statement provided details of the application process, including the necessary documents required, and set a deadline of March 10, 2025, for submissions.

However, numerous applicants have taken to social media to complain that the website remains inaccessible. An X user, Akinrotimi Emmanuel Olamide (@emm55694), wrote: “Since the day they posted this, the portal has never been open for a single day. Why all this deception? It is unfortunate that we have to deal with systems that don’t work.”

Another user, Freewill (@evegreeno), described the situation as a deliberate attempt to exclude ordinary Nigerians from the recruitment process. “This employment vacancy advert is a scam. They don’t want the ordinary Nigerian to register; that’s why the site has been down for days, with no official explanation,” the user alleged.

Tammy (@Paradoxxyl) also voiced frustration, saying, “The site has been down for days now, even at midnight.”

Efforts by our correspondent to access the portal on Monday were also unsuccessful, as the website failed to load.

Reacting to the complaints, the FCSC spokesperson, Hassan, acknowledged the technical issues but stated that some applicants had successfully accessed the portal. He urged prospective candidates to remain patient, assuring them that the Commission’s ICT department had been alerted to resolve the problem.

As the March 10 deadline approaches, many hopeful applicants are anxiously awaiting a resolution to the technical glitches hindering their ability to apply.
