Oby Ezekwesili, a former presidential aspirant, has reacted to the interim Order of the Federal High Court that froze the bank accounts of EndSars protesters.

Reacting to the development via a tweet sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL), Ezekwesili, a former Minister of Education, said, “Wow. How lower is @cenbank ‘s Emefiele sinking? How did the governor get our country’s monetary authority mired in this?

The Central Bank of Nigeria went to secure court order to freeze bank accounts of young #EndSARS protesters in a Democracy? Wow.

No way this will end well. Na”

She described the situation as “contradictory” because young people are in the various panels of Inquiry that President Buhari mandates states to set up

“What manner of contradiction is this, @MBuhari ? You have young people on your mandated State Panels of Enquiry on #EndSARS whose personal accounts your lackey at the @cenbank has gone on to freeze. Does this make any sense?

Incompetence is actually more dangerous than CoViD19.” she tweeted

She added, “So because Godwin Emefiele did not succeed in persuading the young #EndSARS protesters to call-off their protest at that inglorious meeting he called some of them to with the private sector, he’s now using our public institution, @cenbank to punish them? Better be wise, Godwin.”

She urged the Central Bank of Nigeria to retrace its steps and unfreeze the bank accounts

“@cenbank , quickly retrace your steps now and unfreeze the bank accounts of young #EndSARS protesters nationwide.

“You are threading a most dishonorable path abusing our public institution in this vengeful muscling of our young citizens.

Stop your rubbish ‘Power Corrupts’ mess.”
