Four branches of the NBA in Kogi state have frowned at the act of the state government asking the Chief Security Officer to walk out the Chief Justice of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah during the swearing-in ceremony of the New Grand Kadi of the state.

The four branches, NBA Lokoja, Idah, Kabba, and Okene which made up a Forum made this known in a communique issued under their hand, and signed by Chief J.O. Ajewole and A.S. Akpala, and sighted by TNL.

The Forum noted that the Chief Justice is the head of the Judiciary in the state and ought to be present in the function of the swearing in of another bench-man. Speaking on the need to allow the rule of law prevail, the Forum asked all Patties to reconcile their difference for the sake of peace

“The bar is saddened by the current state of affairs on the lingering crisis between the Executive and Judicial arms of government in the state. The bar is very worried with the level at which the current disagreement has degenerated to.

“The Judiciary is the last hope of the common man and the only institution that restores the confidence of the populace on government activities even under military regime, hence its operations must not be unduly interfered with and be allowed in accordance with the law” the communique stated.
