Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about a months-long health challenge that has affected her ability to walk freely, appearing in a wheelchair as she marked her 25th birthday on Saturday.

Daniels disclosed her condition in a birthday video shared on her Instagram page on October 10, 2026, using the occasion to explain her prolonged absence from social media and respond to followers who had expressed concern about her wellbeing.

Appearing in a wheelchair while holding a birthday cake, the actress described the occasion as her “Silver Jubilee” and prayed for calm as she entered a new phase of her life.

“Hi everyone. It’s my Silver Jubilee. This new phase of my life, I pray to God for total calm. Happy birthday to me,” she said.

Daniels said her health difficulties began with what appeared to be a minor issue but gradually worsened, eventually affecting her mobility and independence.

“For several months now, I lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.

According to the actress, her condition took a more difficult turn after the last major public event she hosted, her Children’s Day carnival. What followed, she said, was a succession of medical examinations as doctors sought to understand what was happening.

“It’s been one test after another that I jokingly started calling myself a lab rat,” she said.

Daniels described the pain as severe and said her ability to walk had become unpredictable, with periods when she could move normally and others when movement became extremely difficult.

“The pain became, how can I explain this? The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I find myself walking well, and sometimes I just can’t move,” she said.

She acknowledged the emotional toll the experience had taken on her, saying there were moments when she broke down in tears while turning to her faith for strength and healing.

“I cried. I looked on to God for His divine healing, as He alone has the final say on my life,” she said.

The actress said she decided to speak publicly about the condition because many people had questioned her prolonged absence and she wanted to provide an update to those who had shown genuine concern.

She also indicated that there had been encouraging improvements in her recovery, which gave her the confidence to appear before the camera and speak about what she had been experiencing.

Daniels, however, did not disclose the specific illness responsible for the pain and mobility difficulties, nor did she publicly identify a medical diagnosis or the precise treatment she has been receiving. Available accounts of her birthday message therefore do not establish the underlying medical cause of her condition.

Her disclosure has drawn messages of concern and prayers from colleagues, fans and other public figures, with several Nollywood personalities responding to her birthday post with wishes for recovery.
