It has come to my attention that there was a fire outbreak at the Kano Campus of the Nigerian Law School yesterday, 14th February 2020.

Coincidentally, I was in Kano holding consultations when this news reached me this morning. Unfortunately, my travel arrangements were such that it was impossible for me to visit the campus before departing Kano.

However, I managed to speak with the Deputy Director-General, Dr. James Agaba. He informed me that there were no casualties in the incident and we give thanks to the almighty God for that. My heart goes out to the management and students of the campus.

I sincerely hope that the incident will not affect academic operations and that normalcy will return to the campus as soon as possible.
