The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) will hold a Nationwide peaceful protest to push the demand for independence of the Judiciary on 19th April, 2021.
This information is contained in a circular sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer dated April 16, 2021, signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Union, P. Nnamani
While restating that the strike will continue because the federal and state governments are yet to meet its demands, the Union urged its members to remain resolute regardless of pressures from Governors
“Further be informed that following an emergency meeting of the NWC on the 15th April, 2021, it is agreed that the Union would organize a peaceful protest in the Federal Capital, which would be replicated in the 36 state Capitals in furtherance of our agitations, from 19th April, 2021.
Please note that if in case there are any invitations for negotiations/talks, you should promptly inform the National Headquarters for guidelines and representations to avoid disorder in presentation of facts.” the circular partly read.
Recall that JUSUN has been on strike since April 6.
