The family of late Chief Oyibo Chukwu, a lawyer assassinated in Enugu South LGA days before the general elections, has released his funeral program.

According to the schedule, a service of songs and wake keep will hold on Thursday, December 7 at the deceased’s compound in Umunevo Umuigbo, Amurri.

  • 6:00 pm – Service of Songs & Wake at his compound, Umunevo Umuigbo, Amurri Nkanu – West L.G.A., Enugu State

FRIDAY, 8TH DECEMBER, 2023

  • 10:00 am – Funeral Service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Field, Amurri, Nkanu – West L.G.A., Enugu State
  • 12:30 pm – Interment at his Compound, Umunevo Umuigbo, Amurri, Nkanu – West L.G.A., Enugu State

Chief Chukwu, aged 64, was killed on February 22 while returning from a meeting in his Amurri hometown, Nkanu West LGA. The murder occurred 3 days before he was to contest for a National Assembly seat.

Family members expressed gratitude to God for raising a martyr among them. They requested the presence of friends and loved ones to pay their last respects to the deceased.

Chief Chukwu, also known as Oyibo or Okwelle, was a husband, father, uncle, brother, father-in-law and friend to many. He will be remembered for his selfless service.
