Dr Kayode Fayemi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken an early lead in the Ekiti State governorship election.
Of the sixteen local government areas where results have been announced by electoral officials, Fayemi has won in twelve, as the official announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is still ongoing.
INEC requests for a 30-minute break to process the final collation and subsequent announcement of the winner.
