The Nigerian Law School has announced an upward review of transcript processing fees for graduates seeking to have their academic records sent to various destinations around the world, with the new rates taking effect from April 1, 2026.

In a memo dated March 12, 2026, issued by the Council of Legal Education through the Nigerian Law School Headquarters, the institution outlined a new fee structure categorised by 10 global regions.
According to the memo signed by Aderonke O. Osho (Ms), the approved transcript fees effective April 1, 2026, are as follows:

Regional Breakdown
The fee structure shows that Ghana has the lowest transcript processing fee at ₦40,000, while destinations in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America attract the highest fee of ₦60,000.
Other West African countries aside Ghana will attract a fee of ₦45,000, while most other destinations — including the United Kingdom, Western Europe, USA, Canada, South Africa, and the rest of Africa — are pegged at ₦50,000.
The upward review of transcript fees affects Nigerian Law School graduates who require their academic transcripts for various purposes, including:
- Further education abroad
- Professional licensing in foreign jurisdictions
- Employment verification by international organisations
- Immigration and visa applications requiring academic documentation
Graduates seeking transcripts for destinations in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, or Latin America will pay ₦10,000 more than those requesting transcripts for the UK, USA, Canada, or most African destinations.
Those requiring transcripts for Ghana pay the lowest fee, possibly reflecting the proximity and established institutional relationships between Nigeria and its West African neighbour.

The new fees take effect on April 1, 2026, meaning graduates who wish to process their transcripts at the old rates would need to do so before the end of March.
The Nigerian Law School has not publicly disclosed the previous fee structure, making it difficult to determine the percentage increase represented by the new charges.
Graduates and legal practitioners are advised to take note of the new fees and plan accordingly when requesting transcript services from the Nigerian Law School.
