The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has appointed Mikrodigital Connect as the Electronic Voting Service Provider for the 2026 NBA National Elections scheduled to hold on July 20, 2026.

The committee also appointed Thanelinc Nigeria Limited as the Data Protection Officer for the election.

The appointments were announced in a notice dated May 31, 2026, and signed by the ECNBA Chairman, Aham Ejelam, SAN, and Secretary, Ibrahim Aliyu Nassarawa, Esq.

According to the notice, the ECNBA is constitutionally mandated to conduct the 2026 NBA National Elections through a secure electronic voting platform.

The committee said it had issued a Request for Proposal on April 21, 2026, inviting qualified technology companies to submit bids for the management of IT operations, development and supervision of a secure digital platform for the election.

Following the process, the ECNBA said it received 19 bids, which were reviewed and evaluated with professional advice from its technical consultant.

Out of the 19 bids, six service providers were shortlisted after meeting the minimum technical and eligibility requirements.

The shortlisted firms were later subjected to interviews and further assessment on May 25, 2026. The exercise also involved some candidates and their nominated IT consultants, who made contributions that assisted the committee in reaching its final decision.

The ECNBA said Mikrodigital Connect has now been appointed and engaged to manage IT operations, develop, deploy and supervise the secure digital platform for the conduct of the election.

The committee stated that the company is authorised to carry out the assignment in line with the terms of its engagement and the requirements of the NBA Constitution 2015, as amended in 2025.

On data protection, the ECNBA said Thanelinc Nigeria Limited was appointed in furtherance of its commitment to protecting the personal data of NBA members and in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable data protection regulations.

The committee said Thanelinc will be responsible for ensuring that all voter data collected, processed and stored in connection with the election comply with applicable data protection laws and best practices.

The notice further stated that both Mikrodigital Connect and Thanelinc Nigeria Limited will work collaboratively throughout the electoral process to ensure the integrity, security and seamless conduct of the 2026 NBA National Elections.

The appointments take effect from June 1, 2026, and will subsist until the conclusion of the election, the formal handover of all electoral materials and data to the ECNBA, and the submission of necessary post-election reports and audits, unless otherwise determined by the committee.
