The Council of Legal Education (Nigerian Law School) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Bar Final (Resit) Examinations and Mandatory Revision Programme.

According to a public notice released today, online registration for the examinations will commence on April 14, 2025, and close on May 9, 2025. The mandatory resit revision lectures and tutorials are scheduled to take place from May 12, 2025, to July 4, 2025, exclusively at the Nigerian Law School’s Abuja Campus. The Bar Final (Resit) Examinations will follow, holding from Saturday, July 12 to Friday, July 18, 2025, also at the Abuja Campus.

The Council emphasized that the revision lectures are compulsory for all candidates sitting for all papers. Attendance will be strictly monitored, and only candidates who achieve at least 80% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examinations. However, candidates resitting only one paper (Reference Candidates) may opt out of the revision lectures.

Fees Payable are as follows:

  • Application Fee (All candidates): ₦30,000
  • Examination and Revision Programme (All paper candidates): ₦160,000
  • One Paper (Reference) and Revision Programme: ₦110,000 (for those attending the revision lectures)
  • One Paper (Reference) only: ₦70,000 (for those not attending revision lectures)

All payments must be made through the CBN/Remita payment gateway either via electronic transfer or at any commercial bank. Candidates must select:

  • MDA Name: Council of Legal Education
  • Service/Purpose: Resit Examination or Revision Programme
  • and include their full name during payment.

Post-Registration Requirements: Candidates must submit two (2) sets of the following hard copy documents to the Office of the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, by May 9, 2025:

  1. Online Registration Form
  2. Printout of the Bar Final Result (last attempt)
  3. Photocopy of Law School ID Card
  4. Copies of Payment Receipts
  5. Four (4) Passport Photographs (two attached to each set)

The Council also warned that candidates who register but fail to appear for the examination, or those who register online but do not submit the required hard copies, will forfeit their registration fees.
