A lawyer Temitayo O., Esq. has shared a troubling encounter with a travel agent, who claimed to be a relative of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, after being accused of defrauding individuals stranded abroad.
According to Temitayo, in a post on X, contributors had paid the agent to urgently rebook missed flights for individuals stranded abroad. However, the agent allegedly kept the money and refused to issue the tickets or provide a refund.
Temitayo reached out to the agent on behalf of the stranded passengers, prompting a shocking response. “I’ve seen a lot of things in my life but nothing of this sort. Sorely tempted to care of this person in a way they’d never forget but it feels like a waste of my time,” she tweeted.
The lawyer further alleged that the agent eventually booked a different and cheaper flight but falsely claimed the airline demanded additional payment and withheld the ticket. When asked to provide proof of the extra charges, Temitayo claimed the agent forged an email confirmation.
Adding to the incredulity, Temitayo noted that the agent in question is a 50-year-old woman with children, raising questions about credibility and professional ethics. The agent’s alleged claim of being related to the Chief Judge of Lagos State has fueled public concern over potential misuse of perceived influence.
