The Death of Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide SAN, on the 21st day of April , 2020 is undoubtedly, a huge loss to the Bar, the entire legal community and the nation at large.

Chief Richard Akinjide SAN was an astute legal luminary and would be remembered for his immense contributions to our legal jurisprudence particularly, his contribution to the nation building as a Former Attorney- General and Minister of justice and Former Minister of Education respectively, in the second republic and his 12 2/3 conundrum in the celebrated case of Chief Obafemi Awolowo Vs Chief Shehu Shagari will forever remain evergreen in our legal jurisprudence and a testimonial that a huge vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to fill.

I commiserate with the Bar on the passage of this illustrious legal luminary; Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide SAN

May his soul rest in peace.

Caroline Ibharuneafe , Mrs
Past Vice Chairman NBA Ikeja Branch.
