*Sounds Alarm On Religious and Ethnic Concerns

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Joseph Daudu SAN, has expressed deep concerns regarding the recent warmongering stance of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, against Niger Republic.

Daudu questions whether Tinubu fully comprehends the implications of his actions, while also urging realists within Tinubu’s team to carefully assess the potential consequences.

Daudu highlights the grave religious and ethnic implications of Tinubu’s stance, emphasizing that it has raised doubts about Tinubu’s standing as a true Muslim after his failure to properly recite the Fatiyah during his campaigns.

Furthermore, Daudu notes the existence of a school of thought encouraging Tinubu to persist in his warmongering stance. This sentiment finds support from various groups, including the Oduduwa Republic adherents, Biafrans, Asari Dokubo, Ijaw nation, Bokists, and other inchoate splinter groups, who contemplate declaring their own nations in the event of a cataclysmic situation.

Daudu cautions against nations going to war on behalf of neocolonialists and other world powers to enforce democracy, questioning the adherence to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations by Western countries.

The Former NBA President raises queries about the actions of the Nigerian President, pointing out the similarities between using bullion vans, MC Oluomo, and other tactics to secure votes with a coup d’état.

Daudu suggests that the President should have taken a more hands-off approach, allowing the people of Niger to manage their affairs independently. He also emphasizes the significance of the electricity supply to Niger Republic, which hinges on a diplomatic agreement to prevent the construction of a dam on the River Niger, preserving the livelihoods of millions of Nigerians and the functioning of crucial dams.

He calls for consultation with experienced leaders like General Gowon, who can shed light on Nigeria’s deep-rooted relationship with Niger, dating back to the reign of President Hamani Diori.

Finally, Daudu expresses concerns about arms dealers exploiting the potential for war, with certain countries encouraging ECOWAS to act on behalf of democracy, despite their own lack of adherence to democratic principles. Such actions could lead to a large-scale war in Africa, with severe implications for depopulation and the region’s future.

Joseph Daudu (SAN) urges caution, warning the President not to embark on a path that cannot be managed or resolved effectively. The situation remains tense as stakeholders consider the consequences of Tinubu’s warmongering stance on regional stability and Nigeria’s relations with Niger Republic.
