The Body of Benchers Nigeria is set to induct 15 new members today, February 27, 2025, in a ceremony taking place at the Body of Benchers Complex, located at 12 Y.C. Maikyau Crescent, Institution and Research District, Abuja-FCT.

The event, which begins at 10:00 AM, will also confirm new life benchers, bringing the total number of life benchers in the country to 170.

The induction ceremony marks a moment for the legal profession, as the new members will be formally welcomed into the prestigious body. The official instrument of appointment will be issued to the inductees during the event.

In a statement, the Secretary of the Body of Benchers, Daniel M. Tela, Esq., provided details of the ceremony, noting that the dress code for attendees is formal attire (suit and tie).

The Body of Benchers is the highest regulatory authority for the legal profession in Nigeria. It is responsible for the admission and regulation of legal practitioners, ensuring the maintenance of professional standards and ethical conduct within the legal community.
