Following the report of an unprovoked assault on the Chairman, Ondo Branch of the NBA, Mr Thompson Akinyemi, by a police officer to wit: the Divisional Police Officer (DCO) of Funbi Fagun Divisional Police Headquarters, Ondo, Ondo State, the leadership of the Bar in Ondo State led by the Forum of Branch Chairmen today paid a unscheduled visit to the Commissioner of Police (CP) Ondo State, Mr. Bolaji Salami, to submt a petition and make a verbal report of the incident to him. The CP on being informed of what transpired between Mr Akinyemi and the police officer concerned apologised profusely on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force to Mr. Akinyemi and the entire Bar.
